Bio
Erica Reed Lee is an artist based in Houston, TX. Navigating the post-digital landscape, Lee makes work with an emphasis on tactility. Her studio practice includes paintings, artist books, and three-dimensional work.
Lee has exhibited at venues across the United States including Big Medium, Austin, TX; Center for Book Arts, NY; LBIF, Long Beach, NJ; and Woman Made Galley, Chicago, IL. In 2021 and 2022, she received the Let Creativity Happen Grant from the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance for her projects From the Cave and Book Arts of Houston. In 2022, she received the Kimbrough Artist Award from the Dallas Museum of Art. Lee is currently a MFA Painting Candidate at the University of Houston. Her thesis will be presented at Blaffer Art Museum in March 2026.
Lee’s interest in the technological present extends to her curatorial practice. Her curatorial projects include Book Arts of Houston at The Printing Museum in 2023 and Gathering What’s Tangible at Flatland Gallery in 2022.
